Protect the studio time. Delegate the rest.

The work needs unbroken hours; the household eats them in pieces. A Friday takes the errands, the admin, and the house on standing days, so studio time stops being what's left over.

Most artists start at 3–6 hours a week — enough to fence off the work.

The mental load

Open loops. We close them.

Think of open loops as unfinished tasks living in your head, creating mental clutter. By handing off these tasks to a personal assistant, you can close the loops. Fewer open loops means less mental clutter.

Questions, answered

Asked by artists, specifically

Will they touch the studio?

Only if and exactly as you ask. Most artists mark the studio off-limits entirely; the house, the errands, and the admin are the territory.

Can they handle finished work?

With care and only as directed — runs to shippers, framers, and galleries are common. High-value crating and installation stay with your specialist vendors; your personal assistant schedules and meets them.

My income is irregular. What's the commitment?

A six-month initial term, then month-to-month, with hours adjustable at renewal. Many artists start at the 3-hour minimum and grow from there.

Can hours cluster around deadlines?

The standing schedule holds — that's what keeps the house independent of the work — but the list flexes. Show weeks get a heavier list; recovery weeks get the deep resets.

How many hours do artists book?

Usually 3–6 a week: one reset visit, one run day. The 2-minute quiz suggests a number from your checklist.
